Artisan Resource grows at summer market
April 23, 2014-- Home Textiles Today,
White Plains, N.Y. - Look for increased global representation and an expanded exhibit floor at the summer 2014 edition of Artisan Resource, a market offering U.S.-based volume importers, direct import retailers and wholesalers the opportunity to connect with international artisanal producers.
The fifth semi-annual Artisan Resource will run Saturday, August 16, through Tuesday, August 19, at New York City’s Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94, in conjunction with NY Now, The Market for Home + Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF).
“Artisan Resource has more than doubled in size since its inception in 2012, with exhibitors now representing nearly 30 countries, and the summer show will welcome a record nine government-sponsored pavilions,” said Allison Garafalo, Artisan Resource sales manager. She said more than 100 exhibiting companies have signed on so far, with production capabilities for decorative accessories, home textiles, tableware and more.
Nine countries will bring multiple companies to Artisan Resource as part of government-sponsored pavilions. Two of these— Trade and Investment Kwazulu-Natal from South Africa and ProMexico—are first-time participants in the show.
Individual artisans exhibiting independently for the first time this summer include: Clayworks (ceramic tableware, tiles and decorative accessories from Pakistan); Ecamenac (home furnishings and decorative accessories from Cameroon); Kara Weaves (home textiles from India); Maiz (organic textiles and bags from Guatemala); Rangotri (hand block-printed textiles from India) and Sudarshan (handmade textiles from India).
