Kalaty opening pair of showrooms

Rug manufacturer adding space in Las Vegas, on Long Island

Rug manufacturer Kalaty is opening new showrooms on Long Island and in Las Vegas.

These new showrooms join the company’s current show spaces in High Point and Atlanta.

Kalaty’s Long Island showroom will be in its headquarters here, as the 7 West 34 th St. building in New York – where it has had a space for decades – is transitioning to offices.

Additionally, Kalaty will have a permanent West Coast showroom inside the World Market Center at B-455 and B-449.

“We have kept a showroom presence in New York City for more than 35 years,” says Ramin Kalaty, a company principal and spokesperson. “However, now that we are opening the Las Vegas showroom and increasing the number of major furniture and rug shows we participate in each year from four to six, it makes good sense for us on all fronts to move our New York-area showroom from the city to our Long Island headquarters.”

The Long Island showroom is open to the trade only and features all Kalaty rug collections as well as one-of-a-kind rugs. Located at 156 Duffy Ave. in Hicksville, the showroom is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

The new Las Vegas showroom will showcase the company’s vast product line as well as a full complement of catalogs, marketing materials plus dealer merchandise display and sample racks.

“We feel that being in Las Vegas will help us build and maintain a bigger and better West Coast presence,” said Farshad Kalaty, principal and spokesperson. “This show and showroom are definitely a positive move for us.”

The Kalaty Rug Corp. was founded in Iran in the early 1900s and relocated to the U.S. in 1979. Brothers Ramin, Mike, Farshad, Ariel and Kamran Kalaty operate the company today.
