H+TT helps pinpoint key home trends for NY Now

White Plains, N.Y. - Four key home design trends for 2014-2015, representing uses of color, materials and cultural inspiration, will be showcased in the third annual “Open House” exhibit, which returns to NY Now Aug.16-20 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The themes were spotted by media partner Progressive Business Media, publishers of Home & Textiles Today, Gifts & Decorative Accessories and Home Accents Today and color, trend and e-commerce partner One Kings Lane. “The emerging trends identified for the Open House exhibit will be pivotal to home and lifestyle products during the next 12-18 months,” said Christian Falkenberg, NY Now director and senior vp. “This curated display will offer market participants inspiration in color, material and product design.”

The four trends, as well as their inspirations and expressions, were identified by editors from Home & Textiles Today and its sibling publications. The merchandising team from One Kings Lane confirmed the trends and paired each with a color forecast, and will review and select NY Now exhibitor products most reflective of the trends.

Brass Tactics, for example, offers an alternative to silver and gold, while Straight Out of Gibraltar features the influence of lower Spain, Northern Africa, and the Arabian peninsula on interior design.

The “Open House” trend display will be located in the North Concourse. A complete list of products selected for the display will be available in late June.
