Libeco debuts carbon neutral-collection

Cernobbio, Italy – Fine linens manufacturer Libeco today unveiled its first carbon-neutral, organic linen fabric collection.

The fibers are supplied by a group of flax farmers in the Siene-et-Marne region of France who have been growing organic flax for more than decade, using no chemicals during cultivation. In addition, Libeco’s production process for the collection has been GOTS certified.

In 2012, Libeco initiated a strategy to reduce its CO2 emissions that cut its carbon footprint by one-third. Offsets to remaining emissions – including financial support to reducing emissions from wood stoves in Uganda – has made the company carbon neutral since this past April.
