Capel gearing up for Atlanta
June 26, 2014-- Home Textiles Today,
Troy, N.C. – Exploring styles ranging from bold to demure and traditional to contemporary, Capel Rugs’ designer partners are unveiling new collections of fashion floor coverings set to launch next month at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market.
Capel's latest additions to its licensee programs include new Cococozy, Genevieve Gorder, Kevin O'Brien and Biltmore For Your Home designs.
"With our licensee program, we work with the home fashion world's top designers to create innovative rugs that showcase our unique strengths in styling, construction and quality," said Allen Robertson, vp, sales. "This market, we're featuring an exciting mix of fresh colors, unusual textures and fashion-forward colors and themes designed to capture the imaginations of today's increasingly sophisticated consumers.”
New to Cococozy are Lyrical , Ring and Maroc . All hand-knotted using 100% New Zealand, semi-worsted wool: Lyrical is available in silver green, gray, cornflower blue and indigo blue; Ring is offered in a neutral gray colorway; and Maroc is shown in dark blue.
The first hand-tufted rug in the Genevieve Gorder collection, Ancient Arrow features quaintly imperfect, hand-drawn lines, which demonstrate an ancient pattern repeated and striped to something contemporary, but also classic. It is made in India of 80% wool and 20% viscose in six colorways: gray pigeon, Leo sun, lilac, saffron stone, stone azure and stone bronze.
New Mediterranean-inspired collections from Kevin O'Brien have received such widespread acclaim, that Capel has adopted a handful of additional colorways to three lines. Tuscan Sun, which was honored during the 2014 America's Magnificent Carpet Awards, is now available in a neutral beige colorway. Riviera, which launched in an assortment of spa tones, has gone neutral as well with updated cream and gray colorways. And Ramblas now also comes in Mediterranean blue.
Pergola is inspired by Biltmore's wisteria and trumpet creeper-covered pergola overlooking the former lawn tennis court located below the historic estate’s Italian Garden area. The pergola is supported by a promenade of majestic columns and is adorned with statuary and trickling wall fountains. This traditional hand-tufted rug is made from 100% wool in India in four colorways: spa, beige, cream and navy.
Also new to Biltmore is Granada, which is inspired by George Vanderbilt’s travels to this province of Spain in the late 1800s to visit the Alhambra palace and citadel. This new rug features a distinctive Moorish flair on its traditional hand-tufted 100% wool construction.
