Target set to debut TargetExpress concept this month

Minneapolis – With more than enough time before University of Minnesota students start classes early this fall, Target is opening its first mini concept shop, TargetExpress, here in the city’s northern Dinkytown community.

According to a report today in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, the new site will open its doors July 23 at 515 Fifth St. S.E., on the first floor of the newly built 316-unit Marshall apartment building for student housing.

At 20,000 square feet, it is about one-sixth the size of an average CityTarget store.

Not surprisingly, it will be stocked with items typically in-demand by college students: A mix of basic clothing, food and pharmacy items, and some home decor and electronics, the article noted.

Target announced plans for the concept in January.
