Brewing up iced tea

Closter, N.J. – True iced tea starts with a hot beverage, but can take time to chill down.

Iced tea is a growing segment for tea lovers. The Tea Association of the USA reports that 85% of the tea consumed in America is iced. Now this group won’t have to wait, thanks to a new product that aims to brew iced tea in minutes.

Shown at the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishing Market, Capresso's Iced Tea Maker lets the user brew from loose tea or tea bags and adjust the brew from regular to extra strong. The tea brews over ice into an 80-ounce glass pitcher, making it ready to be enjoyed immediately. The pitcher also comes with a lid for storage in the refrigerator.

The Iced Tea Maker features a glossy white exterior with stainless steel accents. The brew basket, glass pitcher and pitcher lid of the Iced Tea Maker are all dishwasher safe. It comes with a color booklet that offers 18 recipes, including Blackberry Hibiscus Iced Tea, Refreshing Mint Green Tea and Fresh Peach Iced Tea. The product has a retail price of $59.99 and is available at Sur La Table.
