Macy’s name checks in foam

Intros Martha, Ralph brands in foam bedding

Freehold, N.J. – As fall merchandise begins rolling into Macy’s, the department store has extended two important brands into memory foam bedding: Martha Stewart and Ralph Lauren.

As seen this week at the Macy’s store in the Freehold Raceway Mall here, the retailer’s exclusive Martha Stewart Collection brand is billed as Sleep Wise. Lauren Ralph Lauren receives no additional branding and features the tradition LRL green logo.

The department was just shy of being completely set. Fixturing immediately behind the Martha/Ralph presentation on the drive aisle (which provided no pricing information) was empty, with yet-to-be-stocked merchandise stacked on the floor nearby. But Martha and Ralph goods were already occupying a fair share of space on the back wall in the abbreviated foam goods sction. Pricing was available in this presentation – and already on sale at 50% off beginning July 23.

Available sales pricing on LRL foam pillows ranged from $49.99-$79.99, but some of the better constructions had not yet been signed. Available pricing on Martha foam pillows ran from $29.99-$49.99. H&TT also saw three toppers under LRL as well as two toppers and a memory foam mattress pad under Martha.
