Ross rolls out more units

Dublin, Calif. – Ross Stores this summer is opening 23 Ross units and seven dd’s Discounts stores in 17 states, part of the plan to open a total of 75 Ross and 20 dd’s this year.

Most of the units are filling in existing markets, although some Ross stores are boosting the nameplate’s presence in the Midwest – a relatively new region for the company.

The new dd’s units include three new markets: New Jersey, North Carolina and Oregon.

“With these new locations, Ross Dress for Less remains the largest off-price apparel and home fashion chain in the country, with 1,194 stores in 33 states,  the District of Columbia and Guam, while dd's Discounts now operates 144 locations in 13 states,” said Jim Fassio, president and chief development officer.

The company, which generates over $10 billion in annual sales, believes Ross can ultimately operate up to 2,000 locations while dd’s could grow to 500.
