Hoboken, N.J. – The team from Jet.com will be heading to the New York Home Fashions Market in March as it looks to build out its home furnishings assortment and become a one-stop shop for its consumers.

“If we’re rally honest with ourselves, we know our consumer thinks of us as a place to come buy consumables, but we do have an amazing assortment,” gm for home Katina Mountanous told H&TT during a visit to Jet’s headquarters. “We want to raise the awareness in the consumer’s mind that we are a home shopping destination. We have everything they’re looking for.”

In soft home, Jet has made the most progress stocking up bedding and bath – but is still in the market for more. Rugs and window treatments are also a priority.

Acquired by Walmart in August 2016, Jet’s pitch to consumers is flexibility. They can opt to pay with a debit card rather than credit to lower the price of their purchase. Foregoing the option to return merchandise also yields a discount. And the bigger the basket, the lower the prices on the products that go into it.
