Improving online shopping experience this summerThe new Anthropologie store in NYC’s Financial District includes an expanded home store.
Philadelphia – With Anthropologie’s home goods sales growing at double-digits, the retailer is weighing offers to expand to other retailers.

Anthropologie has been approached by several national and international department stores interested in carrying its home merchandise, Anthropologie Group president and ceo David McCreight said earlier this week.

Anthropologie Home is also considering an introduction to the designer trade, he added.

“I'm proud to report to home continues to realize double digit sales growth over nine sequential quarters – with nearly half of our sales coming through digital and the expectation to reach 75% in coming years,” he said during parent company Urban Outfitters Inc.’s Q1 analyst call.

In the near term, Anthropologie is amping up the digital shopping experience for home this summer and making improvements to the category’s supply chain, costing and inventory investments.

Urban Outfitters is also exploring the opportunity for its Terrain home & garden division to develop into a key component of Anthropologie Home’s outdoor living assortment.

“As customers divert increasing portions of their time and money on experiences, both brands are nicely positioned being not only purveyors of products, but enablers of activities, special occasions and memory making,” said McCreight.
