Two more stores opening this fall

Framingham, Mass. – TJX Cos. opened its first US HomeSense store here yesterday, upping the ante on its pursuit of home.

Located at Shoppers World, 1 Worcester Rd., the format is designed to be complementary to the company’s HomeGoods, which has been a star performer among the company’s nameplates.

“We believe an enormous opportunity remains for us to gain additional share in the U.S. home market,” TJX president and ceo Ernie Herrman said during the company’s quarterly call earlier this week.

The HomeSense format is “rooted in inspiration and discovery,” he added and was designed to “look and feel very different from our HomeGoods chain.”

The company posted a video tour of the store. Led by interior designer Dina Holland, known for her Honey + Fitz blog, the walk starts at the front of the store display and winds through departments for lighting, furniture, rugs, dec pillows, bath décor and gifts.

Additional HomeSense stores will open this fall on Sept. 7 in East Hanover, N.J, and on an unspecified date in October in Ocean, NJ.
